Bill: Anti-Ephemeral Party Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party of Kalistan (SPoK)
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 4437
Description[?]:
This act aims to limit the influence of ephemeral and temporary Parties over Kalistani positions. Three times now within the last couple years, short lived Parties have dropped bills with half a dozen articles aimed at scrambling political positions by forcing voted in the Assembly though they themselves have no seats, putting them to a vote and then dissolving back into the crowd of Rightist agitators. This bill aims at ending that practice. This bill may be repealed when the constant politicalturbulence in Kalistan which has plagued our country over the past ten or so years dies down, and meanwhile, Parties which have an actual constituency will perform the legislating. |

Message | OOC: This is too much. You need to pass bills to gain visibility. You're just blocking new parties from creating their agenda. |

Message | OOC: If anything, the exact opposite needs to happen, to avoid this becoming a 2 party state. |

Message | OOC: The Problem is, and we've experienced it three times now, is that a new Party comes, does absolutely nothing for a year, and then drops a 10 article omnibus on the Country, starts it voting and then deactivates while it is still in voting. There is no way to stop them from doing it. I asked the mods to cancel one of the bills where this happened, and someone raised holy hell with it. So the next two times, I had to let them go through. It is a form of destabilization, and I suspect there is some sort of organized effort to mess this country up. So when that sort of nauseating behavior stops, I'll happily support an increase in the quota again. |

Random fact: When forming a cabinet, try to include as few parties as possible, while still obtaining a majority of the seats. |
