Bill: A treaty too far!

Details

Submitted by[?]: S.I.D.M.M.

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2201

Description[?]:

PLEASE DO NOT REACT YET! Read my proposals on Slavery in my other Bill- unfortunately we are needlessly bound by an irritating international treaty, which seems positive on the surface, yet why is slavery still rife? Removing our names from this list shall not portray us in a desperate light. But establish us as the Fathers of Progress. This idea of ours WILL work so:
a) Read my Bill on Slavery
b)Please withdraw from treaty
c) Allow me to restructure Bill now that I am able to legalise Slavery.

MessageAre you mad? Our nation shall never withdraw from the international treaty banning slavery! What are you talking about 'slavery still being rife'? Our nation has never, in its entire recorded history, had slavery! It would be backward and foolish to allow legislation to re-establish slavery.

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset.
