Bill: Agriculture Reform Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Freedom Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2066
Description[?]:
Agricultural subsidies are not needed at all. Removal of subsidies allows competition and free trade to all. Prices will not be artificial and will instead be their true market value. The market will determine the price and the demand for certain products and this will save the government money and allow it to be used in more worthwhile areas, such as education, health care and defence. |

Message | Any thoughts on this? I advocate free trade when sensible and this is sensible, there is no need to subsidise agriculture. Allowing free trade benefits our citizens and also allows those countries that are poorer than us and that are better at producing agricultural goods to sell us their goods at a cheap price and without any unfair restrictions. |

Message | Giving agricultural subsidies based on market demand for the crop being grown guarantees that prices are kept low so even the poorest of citizens can afford them. I'm strongly opposed to this bill. |

Message | Not necessarily, if we subsidise a certain crop (based on the market demand for that crop) more farmes will be encouraged to grow that crop thus keepin prices low. |
