Message | We view these proposals as ideologic rather than anything else. Full privatisation of the media would allow news channel owners to control media output and this would inevitably favour the right and discredit the left. There should be a fair balance and the current laws are close to that. A complete deregulation of video games and movies is also risky given that it could expose young and vulnerable people to swathes of difficult and challenging experiences. Again, there is need for a common sense position on this, not an ideological one. |

Message | Privatisering the media would not benefit any specific agenda or ideology. State media would favour the current establishment and act as state propaganda. Regarding games and film: it is the responsibility of the parents not the state to decide when their child is mature enough for the game or movie. |

Message | Also considering we currently have laws in place that actively breaks up monopolies that would not be an issue either. |

Message | Of course privatisation would benefit the right. Only wealthy individuals would be able to afford media channels and their sympathies lie with money-making and money-making only. At least public media platforms are regulated to ensure that they are neutral. Why is it the responsibility of parents to decide whether their children should play video games or watch movies that contain murder, violence, domestic abuse or substance abuse? The state says that only adults make participate in drinking alcohol, smoking or joining the military - so does FF believe parents should decide instead? |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
