Message | Animals hunt, kill and reproduce naturally and nature always levels itself out. If you legalise the slaughter of animals for sport this will have a significant and negative impact on animal populations, not to mention animal welfare. |
Date | 15:27:05, September 17, 2018 CET | From | Frjálslyndi Flokkurinn | To | Debating the Regulated Hunting Act |
Message | The populations of fast reproducing animals such as deer needs to be regulated since they strip the forests of food and subsequently starve themselves and other animals in the process. They also routinely get hit by cars and other vehicles. |

Message | The laws of nature mean that even if deer was to over-populate itself it would at some point starve, its population would decline, and its food source would recover. Nature has been able to heal itself perfectly fine for millions of years. FF are simply trying to find excuses to justify inflicting pain, suffering and death upon vulnerable creatures. Hunting as a sport of 'leisure' activity - if it can be called that - is cruel and unjustified. For food, yes animals will be killed. But to hunt and kill animals for other purposes is shameful and wrong. |
Date | 18:17:44, September 17, 2018 CET | From | Frjálslyndi Flokkurinn | To | Debating the Regulated Hunting Act |
Message | Under the current laws deer can inadvertently kill themselves and humans by roaming the roads and cites of our nation. This could be averted by regulating the deer population. As it stands now more humans die of vehicle collisions as well as the starving of many animals in our nature. We would argue that the current laws results in more unnecessary death and suffering than if this proposal would pass into law. |
Date | 11:49:09, September 18, 2018 CET | From | Miðflokkurinn | To | Debating the Regulated Hunting Act |
Message | Why would deer stray into cities? And why would humans purposely shooting them with a gun be better in addition to the odd car running them over? The arguments made by FF don't make sense and they don't have a valid reason for legalising the slaughter of animals in the name of sport or leisure. |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
