The LP is more unrestrictive when it comes to civil freedoms and rights. However, we need working policies that can be used to identify citizens in times of crisis or criminal activity. Immigration protocols must also be sensible. |

Message | Why are these rules directed specifically toward immigrants in the Authors' introduction? I understand the proposals cover Kalistani Nationals, but the intent of the law is clearly stated as an attempt to limit immigration. Does the LP SERIOUSLY not know that Kalistan is traditionally a nation built by immigrants and refugees? Have they not been adequately instructed in Kalistani History? Are they not aware that forcing people to pass a qualifying exam will not only disqualify many Kalistani citizens, but also many potential voters for the LP? Why is a qualifying exam needed? What benefit does it serve? Nationality is granted to all who wish to reside in Kalistan. It ALWAYS has been. Why do we suddenly want to make this place a closed society? Has something gotten into the water that made all these "We fear foreigner" Parties spring out of the dunghill like so many poisonous mushrooms? For more that 2400 years, Kalistan has been an open society. We have NEVER had a problem with foreigners coming here. Yes, there have been xenophobic Parties sprout up, but they have not lasted long, when they realized that the proposals they were offering were as un-Kalistani as the police state BS the fascists in the KRF are offering. Fascism and closed borders have no place in Kalistan. They never have and they never will. We oppose. And we invite the members of the LP to RE-read our country's history, so they can remember that certain policies mix with Kalistan like water and oil. |

Message | Due to the SPK's argument, and after internal debate, we at the LP have decided to remove the first article from the bill. However, we strongly reject the claim that "closed borders" were ever mentioned or even considered by us. We are not a fascist party, nor do we intend to form into one by simply proposing slightly less permissive immigration laws. |

Message | OOC: Er, scratch the bit about removing the first article. I've suddenly forgotten that that was only possible when in the debate phase. |

Message | We believe our current policy in which we simply screen potential immigrants and emigrants for criminal records is good enough, their is no need for qualifying exams. We can, however, see the logic in wanting to issue identity cards, but we'll still vote against. |

Message | This is a sorry excuse for reform, the bill we have on the table will better fix our immigration system. |

Message | A truly sensible and pragmatic bill which we will throw our full support behind. |
