Message | Mrs Speaker, Foreign aid is no doubt a good thing, helping to change the world, but the problem is that this creates an environment of over-reliance on money rather than developing on their own. We have given trillions to developing countries over the years, but for the past hundred years, all we've seen is the same status quo status. We give them money, but no change. Why? Because some developing countries in this world have an atmosphere of corruption in their politics. Rather than investing in the people, they pocket the money into their own bank accounts and buy villas and fashion goods for themselves and their own family. Congress voting to cut international aid completely does not mean that we plan to isolate ourselves from the world. Beluzia has a long history of helping those in need, and has a progressive outlook on the progress of the world. What we think should be the norm for Beluzia leadership on the global stage is to actually go into these nations, interact with people living under harsh times, understanding their concerns and make change by helping them through investing in education, health and the importance of voicing out on the issues that you care about. I call for the legislature to overwhelmingly vote Yes on this bill. Ms Millaray Beitris McDonald UBWP Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs Second Deputy General Secretary Bailon UBWP Deputy Party Chief |
