Message | Mr Speaker, One of the key legislative accomplishments of the Rt. Hon. Dylan Jourdain was the Revised Workers Strike Reform Act. Along with the late Rt. Hon. Jack Hill of the New Liberal Party, the Scientian Enclave, and the Liberal National Party, Jourdain passed that piece of legislation that was fair to both employers and workers. It ensured workers could go on strike if they had grounded cause, but allowed employers to fire striking workers who did not have grounded cause. It also created a board which would hear individual cases and make rulings, and set tough penalties for employers who fired striking workers that were found to have grounded cause for their strike. Whether the communists in the USPH like to admit it or not, there is not always grounded cause for a strike, and workers should not be allowed to strike because they felt like it. This bill is a slap in the face to President Hill and Chancellor Jourdain. How dare the USPH try to take away such an important accomplishment from the late, great, Jack Hill. And finally, shame on the Sutton Nationalist Party for supporting such a bill. Tristan Shaw MP for Acton Etobicoke North Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Hutori |
