National University of Sutton Type: Public, Regional University Location: Sutton Mascot: Depends on constituent college Colors: Depends on the constituent college Graduate Program: Depends on Constituent College Real World Inspiration: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_University_of_Ireland Info: Sutton’s first ever university system, made up of three separate constituent colleges. Those colleges are: 1) Selwyn College: a small, liberal arts college, named after former Ambassador and Parliamentary leader Russell Selwyn located in the northern suburbs of Sutton City. The college has fewer than 2,500 students per year, and serves exclusively undergraduates. The institution is the most prestigious and highly selective in Sutton, drawing students both from the island and from the continental Commonwealth. The college's colors are red and black and the mascot is a "Wildcat". Real World Inspiration: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davidson_College 2) The Imperial College of Empress Sarah IV & Prince Consort Paul: Colloquially known as “College of Sarah and Paul” or "Imperial College", the college is a regional comprehensive university named for the first Empress of the Commonwealth and her Prince Consort located in the heart of Sutton City. The college, which enrolls 20,000 students per year, serves as the flagship institution in the University of Sutton system and thus serves both undergraduate and graduate students in professional fields, the natural sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities. The institution serves mostly Suttonites at any given time, though it is becoming more popular with mainland students in Roccato. The college's colors are blue and silver. While the mascot is a lion, the teams associated with the college and the college's alumni are known as "Royals." A graduate research institution with only 500 students and 100 faculty dedicated to understanding military tactics and foreign policy. The institution serves almost exclusively as a military postgraduate school. The D.I.G.S. colors are blue and orange, and alumni are called "Diplomats" or "Dips" for short. The DIGS campus is contiguous to the College of Sarah and Paul. Real World Inspiration: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodrow_Wilson_School_of_Public_and_International_Affairs |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I rise to announce the completion of the three constituent campuses of the National University of Sutton. This bill acknowledges their creation pursuant to the Provincial Bill in Roccato known as the "Greater Education Accessibility Act" (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=580895), and moves for the University of Sutton to be added to the national list of Colleges and Universities of the Commonwealth (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=527226). I will now open the floor for questions about the National University of Sutton before moving for a vote of recognition. Andrew Macalester MP for Sutton East SNP Leader |
