Bill: Democratic Worker's council act of August 4470

Details

Submitted by[?]: United Democratic Party : PLLA

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 4471

Description[?]:

Mr. Speaker,

we believe our Country should take step toward communism. We can start encouraging the formation of cooperatives corporation all accross baltusia. Unlike traditionnal business who are often organised like a dictatorship, where 1 person or a small group will take decision for all, in cooperatives decision are the results of democracy. We need to encourage them as much as possible and maybe, with time, democratic businesses will drive all autoritarians organisation out of the economy.

MessageThis is exactly what we have feared. This is the first step, ladies and gentlemen. The first step for the complete removal of any sort of freedom, liberty, and right to private property. It is absolutely infuriating as to why the hell the UDP, a party I have voted with and represented in Congress for years, would allow these extremists to hold seats and to disrupt our capitalist system. While we are left wing, we are pro-capitalist. I encourage all my fellow Congressmen and Congresswomen to stand up to these reds, and say that there's not a chance in hell that their ways will ever be achieved.

MessageMr Speaker

The Red Menace card, because we would like the government to encourage the development of cooperatives in our economy. I'm sorry, but we are totally off the board, the PLCA had recently sign deals with private business. We are not close to private business. We simply want more democracy in the economy. We want the workers to be respected, We want to stop the ruthless exploitation of our planet for the simple of economy growth. I am certain I don't need to tell Senator that a second Baltusia is not availlable to sell on the free market, that workers and consummers also have rights. To directly compare Cooperatives to a Bloodthirsthy dictatorship, that's a major sophism Mr. Rockwell. its not a valid argument.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I encourage Senator Rockwell, who I deeply respect, to be careful with his words, at least here in Congress. We must, overall, work on the Unity we deserve to these great party of ours.

That said, I am not against this legislation as a single piece. We understand how these councils would improve our worker's lives and that would also dignify them. We as Socialists understand this urge.

We are Socialists, yes. But we're also a Party that lives here, in the United States of Baltusia, on the year 4470.
We must understand our context and our society as a whole. We wholeheartedly believe we can achieve our Worker's Dignity through less radical plans. We can improve Baltusian Lives without causing a Financial Disaster.

We vow to protect our Baltusia, we vow to protect our workers, and our democracy.

MessageI fear that this is a step in the direction of tyranny and if allowed to prevail will ironically enough result in socialism never recovering from its own PR disaster. Seeing as my faction believes in deregulation and a hands off approach towards the free market we have no choice but to say Hell NO!

If I may be so bold, if communism and tyranny don't go hand in hand I encourage my honorable colleague from the great state of Westbrooks to inform the People's Democratic Party of Jelbania and the former Communist regime of Deltaria. I do believe their chosen political system if called 'Dictatorship of the Proletariat', so I don't think they quite got the memo.

I don't see such communists parties in named nation, but if I had, I would certain tell that you cannot achieve hegemony by a dictatorship.

For Various reason, this faction, does not believe in the Dictatorship of the proletariat. because, it is impossible to achieve an Working class hegemony with a dictatorship. it do not work. the only legitimate used of force, is when a group is extremely deviant, like a suidical cult planing to bomb 1 Hospital by month.

And also, you can't say the working the class get control of the means of production in these dictatorship, a social class get remplaced by another classes filled by the ruling party.

I do not know which fantasy land that my honorable colleague from Westbrook lives in, but one only has to look at Terran history to undersatnd, there has not been a single communist party in the history of Terra that did not, upon acheiving power, seek to completely undermine capitalist thought, destroy any freedoms that did not confirm to their "workers paradise", but they need proof they need not look further then the Dundorf "Democratic" Republic that has outlawed all other parties beyond the Communist Party of the land. Does that sound like a dictatorship, and funny how they seem to pop up in Communist nations more then anything else.

My point is simple my Honorable Colleagues, vote down this legislation, it does not help our economy, and there are other ways to support and honor wardworking Balstusians then forcing them to run companies on top of needing to work their own jobs at those companies; how would a Democratic Worker's Council for example run a business that has over 50,000 employees, I shudder to think.

you will see, in the next years, that our party got nothing agaisnt freedom. except if for you, freedom is limited to starting an entreprise with 50 000 employee and getting the richest possible. Which is quite limiting, but I do not see. A good idea to bring democracy to a big entreprise to build an electoral institution. if elections are a good way to decide the orientation of a population of 100 000 000 peoples, it could also work for large entreprises.

We can also confirm, that our party does not support One-party state.

further money, this legislation simply call the government to encourage the development of cooperatives. it does not contraint anyone into building one. but we expected the Capitalists party to play the Red Menace Card,

Except that that isn't all this legislation does. It also offers tax incentives and exemptions to companies that buy into this idea. What kind of incentives are you considering? What kind of exemptions? This are basic questions that should be asked, and yet all the United Democratic Party wants to do is force their idea onto people, rather then let the free market decide. If a company wishes to organize themselves as a Democratic Worker Council that should be their right, but it is not our job to intercede in the market and dictate that. If they are so wonderful why do large enterprises or other companies not do it and why do they need tax incentives, IE Government handouts, if they can function otherwise.

We simply want to encourage the formation of Democratic worker's council, we are not threatening anyone and nobody will be arrested for not organising a democratic worker's council. These will avantage like corporate taxes exemptions.

We can also tell other parties, unlike miltinational, cooperatives are less likely going to move to another country

And what does that have to do with the price of beer?

Why do Companies run by Democratic Workers Council deserve tax breaks, and incentives and not small businesses in small town Baltusia, or major employers?

So why are they more deserving that the small businesses that dot our great nation? Why should a coop be more deserving for a tax break then a small mom and pop shop run by the small family for two or three generations?

By the very definition of this Bill, you aren't. The only tax breaks and incentives I see are going to companies that chose to adopt the coop/socialist model. If I see plans for tax breaks for small businesses and others, maybe I will consider offering this more then a glance, otherwise I will be advising my colleagues to all vote no.

On the Members second point, it sounds like the United Democratic Party should be getting their house in order. For a united party, that are very clearly NOT united on anything.
