| Carola Sebastiani, Minister of Finance: "Mr Speaker, our nation at the date is running for a long period with a budgetary deficit. To face this situation, established decades ago to support our citizens to face the crisis, I think we should adeguate the sales taxes to a growing economy, a population which can better contribute and that soon will benefit of important investments in the infrastructures which will generate jobs, revenues, etc... We shall have the courage to ask to our citizens to adeguately partecipate to the national budgetary needs. I'm ready to assume my responsability toward the citizens for this measure, which, will assure us resources to further invest for our citizens. Thank you" |

We would prefer it if instead of the tax on essentials, the tax on luxury goods would be raised by another point or even 2 if necessary. The essentials should be available by everyone at constant prices! |
