| Ilaria Brioli, AR: "Mr Speaker, I'm presenting this bill on demand of the President of the Republic who is one of the major supporter of this project proposed for years. With this bill the Parliament will authorize the Government to proceed to a program to expand and rebuilt several major sea ports in Istalia to create great terminals for sea connections (the Motorways of the Sea) with many Majatran nations as well as with Southern Seleyan nations. The ports interested will be: - Port of Vinesia - Port of Genevia - Port of Angona - Port of Argigento - Port of Ulbia These ports, as said, will be rebuilt and expanded to welcome fast large ferries and infrastructures to assure rapid loading and unloading of goods, vehicles and passengers. The Minister of Infrastructure will oversee the Works while the needed investments will come from the Deposits and Consignements Funds (Deposits and Consignments Fund (Istalia) ) which will be the major sharesholder of a new company called "Autostrade del Mare S.p.A." which will manage the new Terminals within the designed ports. The Minister of Infrastructure, furthermore, will launch a public tender in order to assign the several sea lines which will be established with the third nations. It is our goals to establish connections with: In Majatra: - Kalopia (Genovia and Angona mainly) - Jakania (Genovia and Angona mainly) - Cobura (Genovia and Angona mainly) - Kafuristan (Vinesia, Argigento and Ulbia in minor part) - Badara (Vinesia, Argigento and Ulbia in minor part) - Cildania (Vinesia, Argigento and Ulbia in minor part) In South Seleya: - Alduria (Argigento and Ulbia) - Kanjor (Argigento and Ulbia) - Rildanor (Argigento and Ulbia) - Mordusia (Argigento and Ulbia) About the internal connections, instead, the port of Vinesia, Palerno, Nepuli and Calliari will be interested also by works to enhance the domestic connections of these 4 cities. We hope to find a large consensus on this project which will greatly expand the exchanges of goods and people enhancing the trade, the turism and the lies with the already mentioned nations. Solentia already started upgrading its infrastructure network to suit Istalia and ongoing plans for joint ports and an electricity grid would be wasted. Furthermore this law would further deepen the rift between our country and would also trigger a response like the building of a Solentian Port and a Channel connecting both seas to the north and south of Solentia. | Message | Othman Kassis, PND Whip, The Solentian ambassador needs to show compassion with our aims in this regard as we need fast maritime connections. In the modern day and age, with Terran-wide shipments, we will not be held back. However, we do have a problem with the role of government in this project, as our law (assuming as proposed the airport law) functions perfectly fine with privates controlling ports. Why does the government need to be involved here? We propose to subcontract the plan to private, Istalian maritime corporations which provide the cheepest service at the best quality. |

| Message | From the Presidency of the Republic: "As said, our intentions are to try to appease the situation between you and Dolgava. Furthermore, we never will allow the positioning of troops able to be a menace for someone, especially you. And currently we have serious dubt that Dolgava is able to maintains forces abroad. About the marittime project, we don't want absolutely undermine or "isolate" Solentia. Istalia has a long marittime tradition, we are encircle by the sea and we are obliged to use the sea. It is a project more than natural for Istalia. Furthermore, this project has a long history http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4118&start=1110#p140049 and it was proposed long time ago, one of the large project proposed to face the economic crisis from which we came out after a very depressed period. International issues (war with Zardugal, tensions with Deltaria, the MUN, etc...) as well as internal issues (the terroristic wave) blocked the country and many projects like this one. It is not an attempt to isolate Solentia, in fact, President Morandi support also the tunnel under the Nayar range and, indeed, would like see more than only one tunnel. But for the moment it is clear that there are some work to do. Solentia cannot oblige Istalia to fully accept all what VR does. Coherence and Ethic. Simple. For the rest, It doesn't seem to me we have withdraw from the already existing treaty between us. It not seems we started a war, we closed our borders, we embargoed Solentia. We want a stable and peaceful Solentia, but it is not possible to achieve this through a one party state, at least we cannot agree or be complice of such way to achieve peace and stability. And we are not convinced even that this could be called peace and stability, because such a regime doesn't assure stability, but compress tensions which can explose periodically, like in the recent times." |
