Bill: On Property Ownership

Details

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 4475

Description[?]:

Members of the Supreme Workers' Council,

Every revolution is a process of reorganization of social relations, and our is no different.

It is not enough for workers' councils to merely collectively control the output and management of business and industry. The means of production must include all that which labour, land and capital produce or else class divisions can never be dissolved. The private ownership of physical and intellectual property by the upper classes in bourgeois capitalist society is used as a means to exploit and develop a lower class from the mass of the population. This process was nowhere more clear than here in Kafuristan where property ownership determined citizenship and determined democratic participation, where property ownership was a direct tool of social and economic oppression and exclusion.

The collective ownership of physical and intellectual property enables the emancipation of the masses and allows our society to transition to one in which the products of society are created and produced for the benefit of every person in society. The lesson of socialism is that the maximum welfare of the individual lies in, and in the long run is indistinguishable from, the realization of the maximum welfare of the society.

I commend this Bill to the Supreme Workers' Council.

Minister of Finance
