Description[?]:
I'd like to see local government given a greater say. After all we are a nation for the people and aside from the obvious universal laws, such as murder being illegal, we must recognise that culture and the moral code alters regularly between Provinces- simply look at what each one values as being fundamentally vital. To start the ball rolling so to speak, can we take an issue that the government seems to have no problems with? Gambling is presently legal. I think to give local government more power and to initiate this notion, we should permit local government to decide what it wants to do with this whole Gambling Issue. Why? Well in reality nobody can sincerely deny that some parts of a country suffer more. Perhaps the impoverished should not be given the chance to waste "hard earned" benefit money in the casinos. In more impoverished area it would make perfect sense to remove such a temptation. But we do not want to completely steal their rights, thus appearing autocratic. You will no doubt ask- "If it is illegal to gamble in one area then wont people venture to where it remains legal." And of course the answer is yes! However a slight increase in various aspects would easily put them off. We simply need an alternative to this negative pastime and this could also be left up to local government to decide. |

Message | We would truly like any members of the left to back the bills, which we propose- within reason- because it seems like those in power- for now- are determine to say black to everything we perceive to be white. |
