Description[?]:
.HONORABLE MEMBERS OF THE ASSEMBLEIA NACIONAL, REAFFIRMING our commitment to the construction of a morally neutral Tukarali state; NOTING FURTHER that it is not the State’s business to regulate, prohibit or encourage any moral and religious behavior; SEEKING to bring Tukarali to international standards of civil liberties and guarantees; THE PST PROPOSES THE FOLLOWING, with considerations: (1) Block A — Adoption Tukarali holds one of the last positions on the matter of equality for adoption. Our screening practices are abusive and restrictive, preventing many children to find perfectly fine homes due to idiotic bureaucracy. Furthermore, our legislation discriminates not only on same-sex couples, but also on any family that is not comprised of a married couple. This rules out guardianship being given to single mothers, fathers, to grandparents, and other non-nuclear families. We must rally behind a more egalitarian adoption policy in order to create a more fostering Tukarali. (2) Block B — Marriage When it comes to marriage, our laws are equally backwater and oppressive. Whereas the majority of the world understands civil unions as a matter of personal preference, we insist on it being a moral issue for the State to decide. Equality means everyone is granted the same rights. Therefore, we must legalize all consenting adults to obtain a civil marriage and allow for them to be ended whenever so desired. (3) Block C — Personal Liberties Tukarali is one of the 8 nations that opt to interfere in what happens between consenting adults in the bedroom. Not only is this a dire violation of any rights to privacy and self-expression, it is also a burdensome moral responsibility on the State. Therefore, according to the principle that the State has no business meddling in consenting adults’ life, we motion for the decriminalization of sodomy and the deregulation of adultery. |

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left. |
