Message | 24 months is not enough for a government to create sensible change and for the country to feel the change created by said government. We believe that 48 months would be a optimal term length. |

Message | 24 months has been the traditional term length and leaving it at alonger period would mean to leave the residiue of the state of emergency in effect which is not wise. VR-liberal spokesman, Richard Benz |

Message | Moreover, such change is not a 'Democracy Act'. It is merely a change in the duration of a term. We agree that Solentia needs more democracy but we see that VR is against a true democracy. |

Message | A shorther term length means a higher degree of accountability and as a result more democracy. VR-liberal spokesman, Richard Benz |

Message | May I remind you one thing Mr Benz. It is YOUR party who created the state of emergency. YOUR party takes full responsibility for the mess you've created in this country. Do not think you can fool anyone with this. VR is going to make history as a party of authocrats and ani-democrats. |
Date | 23:35:16, November 03, 2018 CET | From | Social Democrats | To | Debating the Democracy Act |
Message | Mr Benz, a 2 year term is barely enough to e.g. legalise the land needed for your ridiculous airport or to e.g. thoroughly revitalise our healthcare. 48 months term would be optimal - not too short and not too long. |

Message | What exactly did your laughable party do? Did they call in the government and question it as it was being allowed under the Opposition Rights Act? Did call in the Highest Court of Justice to end the State of Emergency? Did it publish any press statements against the government? No. But that's what I did: I called upon the Highest Court of Justice to end the state of emergency and I risk everything for it. So don't you dare judging me. I am proud to fight for democracy and I am more than willing to continue this fight. VR-liberal spokesman, Richard Benz |

Message | Well, Mr Benz, it seems that they kept you in some kind of closet as you do not really know what happened in this country. First of all, as you do not really know, your party banned SD from press for no reason. Secondly, we tried pushing much needed reforms and your party refused to back them. Your party allowed you to do such changes cause of the negative press and international coverage - that is it. You are not fighting for democracy, you are fighting to keep the party afloat. We would fully support a 48 months term. Matthew Sinclaire, Leader of Social Democrats OOC: It does not go the more the merrier this time though. 24 months is really not enough for a party to have the ability to propose enough bills. |

Random fact: Don't vote yes on a cabinet coalition that doesn't give you the power that you deserve. |
