MessageMr. Speaker,

By request of the First Minister of Sutton and Council of Ministers of Sutton, as Grand Representative it is my responsibility to ask the Commonwealth to approve the Crown Dependency's motion to join the League of Island Nations. The Crown Dependency, as you all know, cannot conduct international relations without the approval of the Foreign Ministry of the Commonwealth of Hutori. As I stand in this house not only as the Foreign Minister, but also as the Grand Representative, I thought it only appropriate to ask approval from Parliament. Should 2/3 of Parliament vote for ratification, Sutton - not the Commonwealth of Hutori - would join the League of Island Nations. This requires no new taxation or funding, and will only enable the Council of Ministers for Sutton to engage in cooperation and shared learning with other small Island Nations.

Andrew Macalester
Foreign Minister of Hutori
Grand Representative of Sutton
MP and MC for Sutton

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost.
