Bill: Qualfied Citizenship Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Fákelos Technokratikís Dimokratías

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 4483

Description[?]:

The road to citizenship should be allowed to all, but an understanding of the social contract between person and state must be known before they can truly be an active participant within the fabric of society. To that end, it is proposed that exams be made mandatory as a means of preparing each aspiring national to understand what would be expected of them following their granted citizenship status and what they should rightly expect of their new homeland in return. Allowing multiple citizenship would also grant freedom of mobility to those born within our society and allow for the possibility of a greater worldly perspective so as to bring new concepts to enrich our wonderful nation, as well as make applying for citizenship less daunting a concept for those who hail from other countries.
