MessageRemoving the governments power in the exchange rate will remove any protection from "unexpected economic impacts" to our currency. We need the government to be able to intervene for the moments when our exchange rate may endanger our economy.

MessageThe PHdG would err on the side of the free exchange of currency, and would argue that attempts to intervene in the currency market is a distortion. If the value of the currency begins to fall based on external manipulation of the market, however, the Brethrenists would like the Government to be able to step in to protect the poor from hyper inflation.

Therefore we would oppose this bill if we had seats.
