| We must be clear that the state security forces and bodies have to fulfill a wide variety of functions, and that an overexposure to many different tasks leads to a worse quality of services. The functions of the police and the army are not the same, and therefore, giving the army the power to function as a police force only results in lack of control and a worse capacity for response. We must have a police force in our nation that is responsible for the services required for citizens in matters of security and justice. | Message | Separation is not comparable in the different forces of our army than between the army itself and the police. The latter are under the control of the corresponding Ministry, and their functions are well differentiated and structured. The regulation of the army is more open in terms of its functions, but they are directed by its own authority, and the moment any high command decides to break with the regime established in our nation directing the army, they can do so because its members owe obedience to them. And that is the recipe for disaster. Our nation must be very clear that the police and the army must be well differentiated.
