| We accept that state-mandated nationalism is nothing but a step towards a fascist polity, but simply neglecting and ignoring the National Anthem is equally bad. It is true that one must not compel anybody to sing the NA nor become a patriot, but it should be played on special days such as when our nation came into existence, the day when the Constitution was finalised. This is just to infuse the spirit of patriotism in our young children so that they learn to respect the nation and promote its betterment. Moreover, this may be done to commemorate certain days. |

| Message | We'd like to change our stance and ask the SDPoK to include a clause which states "The government of Kalistan orders that all public schools, on special occasions, holds a ceremony during school hours in which the school choir will sing the national anthem." We see this as a good compromise between the parties which value freedom of expression and those which value patriotism, as it wouldn't force all students to sing the anthem but would have a group of students that would wish to do so sing it publicly before the whole school. |
