Bill: DNA Storage Reform Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Sosialistisk Folkeparti {S}

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 4491

Description[?]:

Currently the government keeps DNA samples from those who have been both convicted and accused of crimes. However, we see no reason why the government would need to keep DNA samples of someone who has simply been accused of a crime but not convicted. This bill would make it so that only those who are convicted have their DNA stored.

MessageThis is ridiculous. The NPC demands that DNA samples of all citizens - regardless of conviction - are collected and kept for police usage.

MessageHerr Huspresident,

To introduce wholesale DNA collections from all citizens; man, woman and/or child regardless of whether they have been convicted or accused of a crime, would be to introduce the gradual coaxing of the citizenry to a security state. Although this may be the dreams/wishes of the NPC, i believe that the incumbent government is competent enough to not support such sentiments.

Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me--and by that time no one was left to speak up." - Pastor Martin Niemoller
