Bill: The Kurmal Question
Details
Submitted by[?]: Dorvish Popular Front
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2203
Description[?]:
As you may be aware, one of our strongly held believes is the Dorvish claim to Kurmal. The purpose of this bill is to send funding, and endorse, the Dorvik Patriot Front (DPF) - an entirely peaceful organisation of Dorvish people within Kurmal that aim to bring an end to the barbaric occupation of Kurmal by the Alorians. Hopefully, via this action, Kurmal can finally be reunited with Dorvik. The DPF have provided us with the following statistics: - Dorvish population in Kurmal: 65% - Church of Dorvik members in Kurmal: 52% - DPF members: 1.5 million out of 11.5 million people. However, there are thought to be many more sympathisers who are not members. (ooc - this is basically a thing my old party campaign for, in case you werent around back then. Dont think we've forgotten though!) |

Message | Under James Chisem it was our decieded policy to push for a referendum on this subject. However, now the playing field has changed. We believe that a referendum in Kurmal is the preferable option, but only with full Alorian support. Furthermore we must draw attention to the current war in Aloria, any decision should be delayed until after this. We realise this is an issue that deeply divides people in Dorvik and Aloria,m it sould be handled with care. (This could become like the N.I. situation.) |

Message | Lets be honest though, Aloria wiull never consent to a referendum that would cause them to lose a province. We need to decide whether we are serious about reclaiming this land and then push forward with real action to ensure it happens. President Trent |

Message | Perhaps if there is a war going on in Aloria, it makes it the perfect time to make our move. We put this bill to vote to give government funding to the DPF. The funding is more of a symbolic gesture, many of the Dorvish aristocracy have given money through the Primrose League and as such the DPF is not short of money. |

Message | Unfortunately an agreement was made then. This bill, if passed, would cause severe damage to the trust in Dorvik by Terra. You have been warned. |
