Bill: Religious Reform Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Fákelos Technokratikís Dimokratías

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 4495

Description[?]:

The F.T.D. believes in promoting Kalopian Humanism and religious inclusivity that encourages philosophical, spiritual, and moral growth. To do this, religious educational centers will be made widely available, but tightly controlled to allow open discussion of philosophical, moral, and spiritual matters in a common space in order to cut down on intolerant sectarianism.

Religious institutions that cater to only a select group of particular religious beliefs will be allowed, but will be highly regulated and, if profits are made, they will be heavily taxed. This is to discourage the predatory nature of religious profiteering. This also includes the state monitoring of salaries that are made by those that manage these institutions.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.

Random quote: "John Burroughs has stated that experimental study of animals in captivity is absolutely useless. Their character, their habits, their appetites undergo a complete transformation when torn from their soil in field and forest. With human nature caged in a narrow space, whipped daily into submission, how can we speak of its potentialities?" - Emma Goldman
