MessageOur party should stress at this point that, typically, Cabinet Proposals tend to be proportionately parcelled out amongst the participating parties, for the sake of democratic legitimacy. The Cabinet proposal as it stands would parcel out equally Cabinet seats between the three participating parties, even though there is a significant disparity in the votes received and the seats held by those three parties.

Although our party is not part of this proposal, as a matter of principle, we submit that any Cabinet proposal ought to seek, as far as possible, a fair apportionment of its Cabinet portfolios amongst the participating parties based on relative seats held, in the interests of democratic legitimacy.

MessageOur party cannot support this proposal, as it heavily favors the proposing party for no other reason than it is the one to propose the cabinet.
