HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY THE SON OF HEAVEN, by and with the advice and consent of the Grand Assembly of Indrala, enacts as follows:

An Act regarding holidays and observances.

SECTION ONE: SHORT TITLE

(1.1) This Act may be cited as the Holidays Act.

SECTION TWO: DEFINITIONS

(2.1) A Public Holiday refers to a holiday during which employees are entitled to all provisions stipulated in Section Three of this Act;
(2.1.1) Such holidays shall be listed in Section Four.
(2.2) A Public Observance refers to a holiday during which there are no legal provisions;
(2.2.1) Such holidays shall be listed in Section Five.

SECTION THREE: PUBLIC HOLIDAY PROVISIONS

(3.1) Every employee is entitled to and shall be granted a holiday with pay on each of the general holidays falling within any period of his employment.
(3.2) An employer may, in respect of employees subject to a collective agreement, substitute any other holiday for a general holiday if the substitution is agreed to in writing by the employer and the trade union, and the substituted holiday shall, for those employees, be deemed to be a general holiday for the purposes of this Act.
(3.3) An employee who is required to work on a day on which they are entitled to holiday pay shall be paid, in addition to the holiday pay for that day, wages at a rate equal to at least one and one-half times their regular rate of wages for the time that they work on that day.

SECTION FOUR: PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

(4.1) Foundation Day (January 1st);
(4.1.1) to celebrate the founding of Indrala as a modern nation-state in 2075.
(4.2) Spring Festival (February 16th, 17th, 18th)
(4.2.1) to celebrate the beginning of a new year on the traditional Indralan calendar.
(4.3) Tomb Sweeping Day (April 5th);
(4.3.1) to honour one's ancestors and practice filial piety.
(4.4) Dragon Boat Festival (June 20th, 21st);
(4.4.1) to honour one of Indralan's traditional sports and commemorating fealty and filial piety.
(4.5) Shuro Dureas Day (September 15th);
(4.5.1) to celebrate the official and traditional birthday of the ancient founder of the second known united Indralan state: The United Indralan Commonwealth.
(4.6) National Day (December 1st);
(4.6.1) to celebrate the coronation of the Tianshun Emperor, the first Emperor of the Yu Dynasty.

SECTION FIVE: PUBLIC OBSERVANCES

(5.1) Imperial Armed Forces' Day (March 10th);
(5.1.1) to celebrate and honour the Armed Forces.
