Bill: On the Control-Structure of Cities and Townships
Details
Submitted by[?]: Parti de la Líberation du Peuple
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 4498
Description[?]:
The single-person rule of cities and townships, which are in and of themselves the smallest unit by which our country can truly operate, is obsolete and backwards. Why have we abolished this type of rule in almost every other faculty of government, but not that of what is by some metrics the most important instance of community? The solution is to have councils elected to city power, so multiple voices can be heard and more facets of a community represented, which shall in turn result in fairer and more equitable rule for all. Measures such as strategic voting shall no longer need to be undertaken, as all parties shall have a chance to represent their people. By voting against this measure, all you are doing is saying that it would overall be detrimental to your party to have open democracy - and the voices of our people shall reply in turn. |

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
