Message | Mr Speaker, With the demise of the Conservatives early elections are essential to maintain legitimate government and representation in Hutori. Louise McDonald MP Nationals leader. |

Message | Mr Speaker, We feel it is only appropriate to let the legitimately elected coalition finish the vote on its new Budget before holding another election. The coalition, as it stands, still had a majority in the 205-seat Parliament. I don't think it is fair that the Nationals, as soon as they are no longer in government, feel the need to be gratified by trying to pick up the seats vacated by the former Conservative Party. Therefore, we are voting against new elections at least until this coalition can have a full vote on its presented Budget. Voters shouldn't need to go to the polls twice in two years. - Alexandra Rissolini (HS-RO) Hutori Socialists Senate Leader |

Message | Mr Speaker, The proposed budget will pass as soon as it receives a majority, as will this vote on a new election. The Socialists are right to say that the electorate shouldn't have to go to the polls twice in two years, unless of course parties collapse and their voters are no longer represented. The National Party proposed a similar motion last year when a left-wing party collapsed. Presumably the Socialists think the Nationals did that in order to pick up votes? Or perhaps not, it is unfair for the Socialists to suggest there is an ulterior motive when the Nationals have shown integrity on this matter. Indeed given that the Socialists backed the last motion it would perhaps be more appropriate to state the Socialists seek partisan advantage by opposing this motion. Incidentally the Nationals have backed the proposed budget and have only just seen that they are no longer in government. We'd urge the Socialists to reconsider their opposition, otherwise they set a dangerous precedent for the future. Louise McDonald MP Nationals Leader. |

Message | Mr Speaker, I was not certain that the Budget would pass as soon as it reaches a majority, but upon reviewing the procedure it seems that would be the case. Granted this was our primary objection to this, the Hutori Socialists will abstain on this proposal until the Budget has passed. I thank Ms McDonald for clarifying this area of misunderstanding. - Alexandra Rissolini (HS-RO) Hutori Socialists Senate Leader |

Message | Mr Speaker, Upon reconsideration, we consider that it would only be fair for the Monarchy Abolition Act to complete its vote before a new election is called as this directly affects whether the Head of State shall be an elected role at that election. Therefore, we promise that we will immediately call for early elections after that vote has concluded in January 4502. - Alexandra Rissolini (HS-RO) Hutori Socialists Senate Leader |

Message | Mr Speaker, It appears evident that the Monarchy Abolition Act will now not pass as the People's Party have flipped their vote. We will support early elections. - Alexandra Rissolini (HS-RO) Hutori Socialists Senate Leader |

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context. |
