MessageThis nation currently experiences a thriving economy from the recreational cannabis market. Sales numbers last year of cannabis were reported to be up to $5.3 billion. The Social Liberal wing of the UDP is wholeheartedly for the continuation of legal marijuana, but can agree that other, more harmful drugs such as heroin, ecstasy, and LSD should be banned and their use prohibited.

If the Republicans ban recreational marijuana sales in this nation, the economy will most certainly immediately feel the impacts. Alongside this, more harmful treatment methods for cancer patients, such as chemotherapy, will be their only option instead of more therapeutic medicinal cannabis.

We stand vehemently against this legislation, and encourage bipartisan support for the continuation of legal cannabis, both for medicinal and recreational purposes.
