MessageI feel the 'tied' aid option is not fair. It's not because governments or countries don't want to give us an advantage in comparison with other nations when it comes to trading rights, that the people of those countries should suffer because we would only help them if their government grants us increased trading rights.

MessageI also feel we should give more than just disaster relief; we should help countries with stagnating economies develop and send humanitarian aid to the regions where it is needed, regardless whether a disaster occurred or not.

MessageA lot of countries problems stem from their refusal to open up their markets to free trade. However, others stem from being too open.

We rephrase our answer to being vehemently opposed to high levels of aid and reserve judgement on the moderate aid question until more parties have commented.

MessageAs a sidenote: I'm willing to accept the moderate aid option as a means of compromise.

MessageI think it should be up to Rutanians themselves whether or not they want to give to foreign countries. If they do, they can easily make a private contribution to charities which specialize in such things, but they certainly shouldn't be made to give (spending tax money on foreign aid is essentially forcing the populace to give to charity).

MessageThat would of been our argument too. We support one of the first two options only.

MessageIn that case, does anyone object that I open voting on "The government only gives aid for disaster relief in foreign countries"

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset.
