Message | One of the concerns I believe SPoK had with SEA was article five which collectivizes Seleyan economies by making it so that an economic attack against one Seleyan nation would be considered an attack on all of them, including Kalistan. We would be permitted to opt-out of this article by passing a separate bill in the National Assembly or in the SEA legislative council. |
Date | 00:02:54, January 07, 2019 CET | From | Socialist Party of Kalistan (SPoK) | To | Debating the Ratification of the Seleyan Economic Area Treaty |
Message | Yes, this issue is not resolved by someone saying "Oh, Well, Kalistan can simply opt out of that provision as long as they join the treaty." We oppose this. |

Message | So is there no possible way to resolve this issue if not even the author of the treaty can exclude us from article 5? |
Date | 02:22:03, January 07, 2019 CET | From | Socialist Party of Kalistan (SPoK) | To | Debating the Ratification of the Seleyan Economic Area Treaty |
Message | No. A Treaty is above the word of the Party who authors it. The Treaty should not have that clause in it, or it will be enforced. |

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining. |
Random quote: "A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." - George Washington |
