Message | Mr Speaker, The Green Party talks about liberalising our country through this bill but I note several of the bills go too far the other way - for instance, 'forbidding' prayers in schools seems an example of this. Other policies are just too dangerous: only allowing police to disperse crowds if a state of emergency has been declared means they would never be able to stop or prevent a riot if it spontaneously broke out on the streets. While allowing people to take whichever drugs they wanted would be reckless, to say the least! Nevertheless, the government does support some of the less radical reforms and could vote for them if they were broken up into smaller bills rather than this cumbersome multi-article legislation.
