Description[?]:

BACKGROUND HISTORY

The nation of Pontesi is a melting pot of several cultures. The indigenous people are the Nrktek (Armenians), but over time were heavily assimilated by colonists from Selucia (Romans) becoming the Pntek (Romanized Armenians). A group of unassimilated Nrktek still remains in the northern mountains. The closer one gets to the southern and eastern coastlines the more and more ethnically Selucian it becomes. Over time minorities from neighboring Beiteynu (Jews) and Majatrans from the south (Arabs) have built up significant communities in the country. A relatively recent mass-migration/invasion by the Rajutti (Malivians from the north-east) has added another minority to the mix. The elite of Pontesi has almost always been composed of Selucians or Pntek.

ETHNICITY:

40.7% Seluco-Pontesian (concentrated on the coast) (RLE: Late Imperial Roman)
35.8% Pntek (concentrated in the western highlands) (RLE: Ethnically Armenian, culturally and linguistically Roman)
8.4% Arev Mardrik/Nrktek (concentrated in the northern highlands) (RLE: Armenian)
6.9% Rajutti (Assimilated Malivian invaders/exiles)
3.4% Majatran (RLE: Arab)
3.2% Yeudi (RLE: Jews)
1.1% Bihezi (RLE: Kurdish)
0.5% Other

LANGUAGE:
The official language, and the language spoken by most people in daily life, is Selucian (Latin). Over the centuries a local dialect has developed (Seluco-Pontesian) that heavily borrows from the indigenous languages and is gaining more and more traction to be officially designated a seperate language from Selucian.

Official: Selucian (RLE: Latin)
Recognized: Nrktek (RLE: Armenian), Majatran (RLE: Arabic), Yeudi (RLE: Hebrew)

RELIGION:

38% Hosian (Pontesian Patriarchal Church) (RLE: Armenian Apostolic Church)
35% Religio Seluciana (RLE: Roman/Greek paganism)
8% Unspecified/Unanswered
7% Gerajan (RLE: Hinduism)
4% Ahmadi (RLE: Islam)
3% Yeudi (RLE: Jewish)
2% Felinism (Selucian cult focused on cat-worship)
3% Other

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that.
