Bill: Proper Presidium Representation Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Lodamese Democratic Progressive Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 4531
Description[?]:
We believe the Presidium should be increased to having 599 seats. This would allow better representation of the people and there would be no worry of empty seats due to the recent change of the method in determining amount of seats per region via the Grand Reconstruction Act. |

Message | Mr. Speaker Why should the number of seats be increased to 599 instead of 600? It makes no sense if the number doesn’t end with 0, also, why should this country even give ignorant “people” more representation? I believe 8 representatives, one for each major party will be more than enough to represent our people, since all political parties in this country are so disciplined that no one voted against their own party. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, For one, the Presidium having 599 seats is a reference to how it was way back when this party was active centuries back. It worked well back then and gave the Lodamese People proper representation. On the note of the "doesn't end with 0" point, I would agree with this if we were still calculating seats per region via equal representation. However, the Presidium voted for constitutional reform rather recently that changed that policy to one that gave smaller states a considerable advantage. Having this in mind, we thought it best to go with this iconic number that would put this system into practice. Also, I am appalled that the National Archreactionary Party would refer to the people they aim to represent in such a way. I do hope the Lodamese People are listening to this and that they consider what's happening here as they go to the polls in the next elections. Destin Horon, NGPoL MP |

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left. |
