MessageWe had campaigned for the current law after a former Communist party in Jakania decided to redistribute land equally to farmers. The current law was a way to encourage farmers to work together and be more productive by using collective services, such as milling and distribution services. It was hardly a good idea to let farmers fend for themselves in the business world.

The current law still serves an important purpose today. Namely, it encourages (encouraging something costs us nothing, after all) the merger of smaller farms into efficient farms that can better compete in international trade. Before voting yes, notice that the current law allows farms to be as large or as small as they like - it merely encourages tiny farms with few workers and resources to pool together their resources into more secure, profitable farms.
