Bill: Secular State Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Humanist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 4540
Description[?]:
To ensure that all people, regardless of their religious belief or lack thereof, are represented fairly and equally the state must strive for secularisation. Religious beliefs can not and should not be the bases of a state alone and we must do all that we are able to ensure our state remains impartial in matters of religious belief which could otherwise corrupt and negatively influence laws which may be for the good of the people. This bill does not effect the ability for people to practice their religious beliefs outside of government, nor does it seek to limit the religious freedoms people enjoy. |

Date | 18:13:52, March 03, 2019 CET | From | Hosian Democratic Alliance | To | Debating the Secular State Bill |
Message | To deny children spiritual guidance at school is to deny them an education in the love and grace of the Lord, and to deny them a deeper understanding of themselves. |
Date | 18:28:09, March 03, 2019 CET | From | Humanist Party | To | Debating the Secular State Bill |
Message | We believe that a school is a place of education, not for the fulfilment of spiritual needs. Children would still be free to partake in spiritual guidance in places of worship. This bill is not prohibiting religious or spiritual beliefs outright. |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols. |
