Description[?]:
The majority BDL has instituted a new government, and it is true that they have been able to gather more bipartisanship than they have in recent memory. There seems to be a split in the conservative base between the BDL and the HDA. The HDA holds the presidency and is set to receive a few cabinet positions, but the BDL appears to control most of the government. We would like to give the opposition an opportunity to ask any questions about the majority as they want. We also would like the HDA to contribute to this. Each opposition party please give one set of questions for the BDL to answer, and then the BDL can assess each party’s concerns specifically. We would all like to get on the same page, and we would like to end this final year of BDL control (depending on the election) with transparency. SDP questions: 1) What is your reasoning for giving the HDA cabinet positions and the presidency when it’s clear your party can control it all without their support? Can we really trust your leadership? 2) How has the foreign affairs minister attempted to address recent efforts in Terra for collaboration? When will we see new treaties proposals in place? 3) What is the BDL 4542 platform for how they can improve Solentia? Thank you for your time. |

Message | Dear members of the Senat, the opposition parties already have a law which regulates their rights to scrutinize the government: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=584012 As the HDA will become part of the government, according to the act, it does not longer count as oppisiton and therefore does not have the right to question itself. All parties which want to question the government must have at least 20% of the seats or can submit their questions via the leader of the opposition (SDP). Sadly, the SDP has been inactive as leader of the opposition. Now, to the questions of the SDP: 1. The big difference between the SDP and the BDL is that we think ahead, meaning we have to adapt to the much more diverse political nature of Solentia by increasing the base for bipartisanship and good cooperation. However, there are a few red lines which will trigger severe reactions when they will be crossed not solely by the BDL but also by the military and the whole state apperatus. As you well know most members of the cabinet are members of the military and the head of the military is the Prime Minister. All public servants within the apperatus are BDL members, because they are requiered to become member: (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=584003). I will not tolerate the dismantel of our special weapons programm nor our military as I see them as a gurantee for our independence. Apart from that we see ourselves as force of progressive change and welcome input. 2. No. 3. What is your platform? I agree we have reached almost everything which we hoped for, but as we outlined already we plan to abolish yet another ministry and abolish income tax while keeping income on the same level. The two consecutive terms of the BDL have given this country much stability back and we intend to extend our hands to other parties to pass some reforms in close consultation with our coalition partner. It is plöanned to pass a law which concentrates all homsexuales etc.. in central conversion camps in which they will be healed. Moreover we intend to set up a constitutional review committe to take a critical look at our constiution. Again we will not allow that this country will become communist ever again and will fight attempts to make it communist with tooth and claw. Thank you for your patience. Message | The Humanist Party seeks to understand why the BDL restricts the civil liberties of its citizens so harshly? Does the BDL consider itself a fascist regime? Secondly, we ask why it seems so important to cut yet more funding from vital ministries? As there is no great requirement for the reduction of costs, we are curious as to why this seems to be an important area? - The Humanist Party. |

Message | 1. The people have reelected us twice and we see this as a confirmation that the people rather wish for the good old order than gays running around freely. 2. We intend to increase funding in the really important areas of government: Police and military and as most powers in the area of enviornment are devloved to local governments we do not nee a ministry on national level. Message | We can assure the BDL that we do not wish to reinstate the communist government. We do not appreciate straw man characterizations. |

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |
Random quote: "Thousands of Zardic soldiers were sacrificed so that the Zardic government could gain control of a few buildings and Theodoro could pretend to be Augustus the Great. This is the kind of jingoistic ideology Zardugal would bring to the Security Council. They will throw countless lives away in pursuit of former glory." - Prince Akhaias, former Coburan royal |
