Bill: Fair Taxation Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Humanist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 4545
Description[?]:
We propose the following as a fair and balanced taxation system. 1.) Religious institutions are capable of producing a great amount of income, none of which is currently taxed. We believe this to be unfair to the hardworking citizens of this nation who pay their fair share while the large income made by religious institutions is left untaxed. 2.) The extortionate rate of tax on essential goods is far too high and must be reduced. 3.) Corporations make a great deal of money from our nation, it is only fair that some of that income is reinvested to improve the lives of our citizens. 4.) An overhaul of income taxation meaning that those earning less than 5,000 SOL per annum do not have to pay tax, while the tax rates increase for those more capable of paying more without impacting their standard of living. We urge the senate to consider this bill, for the good of our people. |
