Voting deadline: May 4553

Description[?]:

It is necessary to establish a law to regulate negotiations between unions and employers regarding hours worked according to the branch of action of the employees.
With the current lack of regulation we have cases where many companies practice something very close to slave labor, causing their workers to work for 15, 16 and up to 17 hours a day, thus reducing the competitiveness of the industry of our country since the levels of production of these same employees are extremely low due to fatigue and increasing unemployment, since in many cases the employees are obliged to fulfill a corresponding day of two employees in one day of work.
We strongly urge that both the ruling and opposition parties support this law so that we can have more decent working conditions for our citizens, greater global industrial competitiveness and better communication between employers and employees through their respective unions.

Thanks.

Maria das Dores Lucena
President of Partido da União Trabalhista Organizada.
