I would once again like to request the SDP puts forward a more sensible debate as opposed to juvenile snipes.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The LBC is a vital instrument of Luthorian soft power, and our country is most fortunate to have it. Not to mention it is already almost entirely paid for by TV license fees - what the government contributes is spent exclusively on the World Service.

MessageMr Speaker,

Ludicrous nonsense. It would be one thing id the LBC was an optional subscription service, but it is MANDATORY to pay your license fee so long as you have a television, no matter what channels you watch or what you want to do with it. This to me sounds like a tax. It is even more ludicrous that this government admits to PAYING the LBC directly for it's World Service as well. The state subsidising businesses and making it essentially mandatory for the populace to pay...hmm...ingenious business model, at least for the LBC, not so much for the people of Luthori!

MessageMr. Speaker,

If the honourable member doesn't want to pay the fee, she doesn't need to buy a TV.

MessageMr Speaker,

Why should our people be forced to pay a licensee fee towards only one channel just to own a TV, especially with the advent of so many streaming services that give us far more content? It seems the SDP has absolutely no regard for freedom, nor any concept of how modern technology works.

MessageMr. Speaker,

If it's an issue, I do believe you can watch streaming services online. By paying the licence fee you also get access to the LBC's own streaming services.
