Message | Mr Speaker, After the good progress that was made by the previous Minister of Finance, I stand today to introduce another tax cut. This time, for Hutori's lowest earners. We were elected on the promise of fighting for the middle class, and those working hard to join it, and this tax cut does just that. By giving Hutori's lowest earners a tax break, it puts more money back in their pockets so that they can get ahead, not just get by. Hutori can afford this tax cut because of the strong fiscal management of previous Conservative governments. We currently have a surplus of over 28 billion Lira, and it is high time we put some of that money back into the pockets of hard working Hutorians. After this cut, our surplus will stand at approximately 9.85 billion Lira, which is still a very healthy surplus. Hon. Jacob Houston Senator for Glentingham East Minister of Finance |
