MessageWhy is it, Mr. Glenn, that you believe religions of any kind shouldn't be taxed? I believe that is the central question regarding this bill, due to the changes it would carry to our current tax system. Especially considering we have another bill, now in consideration of the floor, regarding tax increases..

MessageMr. chairman I believe that religions should not be taxed because they do a lot of good in our communities by helping the poor and needy. Also their are many old churches that date back to the founding of our great country and they have a very small congregation and under the current law are having to pay the same taxes as big corporations. As a result many of these historic churches are having to close their doors, and buildings destroyed. I ask this committee to help preserve our history and culture.

MessageMr. Glenn, we understand your concern and we hear it, but at the same there are churches and congregations that have huge margins of revenue, huge congregations and whose churches are, sometimes, bigger than stadiums. Once the church is bigger than a stadium, then taxes must be payed, because everyone must contribute to our State's well-being.

MessageI am with the Liberal National Party on this issue, and hope the bill will get struck down. We do not need the change to our current Tax plan.

MessageOur party votes no, as this shall allow churches to become too powerful. It shall also take away precious tax revenue that is needed to sustain our society. The churches too must pay their fair share. They must not become leeches.
