(This bill was proposed by the leader of the National Progress Party Justine Bates) Even if we disagree with the idea of any individual desecrating the flag as it is a very direspectfull act. we don't think it should be illegal for anyone to do it. It is a basic idea of freedom of speech. The flag is a symbol and the governement shouldn't restrain anyone who want to express their opinion of that symbol in the way they desire to do so. |
