| The Kirlawan Liberal Democratic Party puts forward a bill to establish the Office of National Service, the purview of said organization being the facilitation and enforcement of a mandatory service period for all adults of Kirlawa, which will be known as a "Tour of Service". This mandatory service period can be completed by completing a tour of duty in the nation's military, either overseas or on the homefront, or a period of paid civil service conducted domestically. The long term effect of this act is to instill in the people of Kirlawa a strong sense of patriotism and a drive to help other, both at home and abroad. It would also increase the available manpower to mobilize in the event of war or national crisis, as well as improve the quality of life for our worse-off citizens through community service, and provide for the construction of public works and vital infrastructure. |
