Description[?]:
(This bill was proposed by the senator Johnathan Erickson) Polluting cars have a devastating effect on the environnement and we must ban them. However, it would be very unwise to simply ban polluting car just like that as many low-earning hutorian will not be able to afford to buy new car and the hutorian's car industry would not be able to adapt. So, what we propose is to ban polluting car gradually over many years. Provision; Article 1)The production of cars using non-environmentally friendly fuels shall be banned upon the year 4570. Article 2) The use of cars using non-environmentally friendly fuels shall be banned upon the year 4580. |

Message | Mr Speaker, What the National Progress Party fails to understand is that electric vehicles actually emit more CO2 than diesel powered vehicles. Some studies show that diesel powered vehicles produce up to 28% less CO2 emissions than electric cars. And that doesn't even take into account the CO2 emitted during the production of the battery used to power the car. Clearly this law would be unenforceable because it does not clearly specify which fuels are "environmentally friendly" and which are not.
