Description[?]:
The Minister of Defence has come with a restructuring plan of the military. While our nation has been able to live in peace for decades, we must be aware that there is a constant threat around us. As our military was allready at the lowest level, we should invest in our protection measures. The plan would be to protect our nation mainly by sea, since we have some significant natural borders by land and we do have a good understanding with our neighbours. The military budget should be altered to approximately LOD 7 billion as soon as this restructuring passes. Up to now, we managed to save LOD 4,256 billion over the years to fund the initial investments. We ask the Minister of Finance to consider this matter. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I have initially come up with three options on how to deal with the budget following the proposed LOD 1 billion increase in Defense spending. -A proposition to cut 550 million from Health/Social Services and 40 million from the Head of Government. This would leave us with a bit more of a surplus than the current budget. -A proposition to cut 500 million from Environment and Tourism as well as Internal Affairs. This would leave our budget at about the same. -A proposition to leave the rest of the budget as is. This option would leave us with about 1 billion of an annual deficit. We ask our colleagues of the LWA on which of the options they prefer or if we could work out a different solution. Dean Atteberry VII, Lodamun Finance Minister |

Message | OOC: In the first option, that's 550 million from the HSS and the Education and Culture, not just HSS. |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
