Bill: The Abolition of Detention of the mentally ill
Details
Submitted by[?]: MWR - Market Socialists
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 4570
Description[?]:
If individuals have certain inalienable rights thus being sovereign in both body and mind then it should be noted that the current policy of compulsary detainment of the mentally ill constitutes a violation of individual liberty. Detainment has done little to improve their plight and serves only to deny the existence of said problems rather than coming to an understanding and providing suitable accomodation where possible. |

Message | Mr Speaker, Whilst we strongly believe in and cherish the rights of individuals, mentally ill individuals who are a danger to the public simply must be detained, both for their own good but more importantly for the public's, as their lack of detainment would potentially infringe on OTHERS liberty. |
Date | 15:29:05, May 03, 2019 CET | From | Socialist Party | To | Debating the The Abolition of Detention of the mentally ill |
Message | Mr. Speaker, We think that it can be dangerous for mentally ill individuals to be left without appropriate care and experts. If these people are not compulsorily detained, we cannot be sure they are taken care of. Therefore, we will abstain. |
