Bill: Fact-finding Mission to Mount Aldegaris

Details

Submitted by[?]: Ducal Delegation

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2207

Description[?]:

His Grace owns a small 264-year old cottage right at the top of Mount Aldegaris, the tallest mountain in Aldegar. The cottage doesn't have electricity or water pipes fitted, although it boasts a fine old authentic Aldegarian chimney and fireplace, and has a well and a toilet in the garden. Nosy, interfering local government planning officers keep pestering His Grace to demolish the cottage because they fear the high winds will blow it down, but the cottage hasn't been blown down in 264 years and His Grace is perfectly satisfied it is safe.

His Grace has informed me that he is very generously willing to loan the use of his cottage to the Grand Councillors from the Progressive Conservatives and the Republican Party for 2 weeks, so that they can have a bonding session. Admittedly, the cottage will be a bit cramped for all 98 of them, but His Grace has suggested they can utilise the cellar and the loft, and if necessary, can put up tents in the garden.

I therefore propose to the Grand Council that the PC and the Republicans should be sent on a compulsory fact-finding mission to His Grace's cottage on Mount Aldegaris, in order that they may come to better understand traditional peasant life and culture.

MessageWe can stand the wind and the lack of electricity and plumbing, but it's cruel asking us to share a cottage with the Republicans.

We are also quite certain that we understand peasant life and Aldegarian culture much better than the newly-arrivded fascist Republicans.

MessageWe have extended our hands in friendship several times, and the PCs have not taken it. To call us fascists is rather funny coming from them. We look forward to hopefully showing we are open to new ideas and welcome this meeting.

We didn't expect the close-minded "Progressive" "Conservatives" to accept this when we read it. It is ironic how many times their voting and bills contradict their own party name.
