Message | The problem with this bill is that it allows for far, far too much freedom in religion. Think of it like Anarchism: on paper, it isn't a bad idea, but put into practice, there's no telling what could go wrong. History has demonstrated that wearing religious garb in public, excluding special occasions, leads to culture clashes between religions, which often results in violence. The Westboro Baptist Church is an officially recognized religion that preaches hate speech and discrimination. This is a very risky bill. As such, the DSP shall abstain. |

Message | For all your talk on tolerance your party sure has a problem with people wearing crosses on their neck. |

Message | It's not just that - there is so much tension surrounding issues of religion. Issues that, in all reality, have little to do with the government. This being said, churches, mosques, all sorts of religious organizations struggle for power in the government - which is valid, but contain radical, and in some cases out right dangerous ideas. Ideas that put lives at risk. Ideas that actively persecute other religions and minorities. A famous man once said "Fascism is a religion." To a degree, this is not wrong. This is not to say that fascism IS religion, but the ideas of religion, to be perfectly honest, don't belong in a government. At all. It's like trying to send a scientist into heaven or hell. The ideas don't mix. Matters of the state should be handled by the state - NOT by the clergy. Matters of the clergy should be handled by the clergy, with LOOSE supervision from the government. It's an extremely complex issue, one my party cannot do justice in a single post. Maybe it has to do with the atheism surrounding my party. All I'm saying is that religion is far, far too complex to discuss through bill, and no matter what we very well may never reach a perfect solution to the problem of sponsoring religion in governments. In the meantime, I don't think a state religion is really what we need right now. |

Message | We believe that all people deserve religious freedom. We have never had any of the problems you talk about. We think this as offensive towards our Hosian voters! |

Message | One can have religious freedom without having a state religion. We do not need to turn our great nation into a Theocracy. |
Date | 19:23:56, June 01, 2019 CET | From | Sozialistische Koalition | To | Debating the Religious Actions |
Message | A theocracy would be forcing religion on the people. This will merely ensure that the bulk of the population get the political representation they deserve. Our nation is traditionally and culturally Hosian. Our laws should reflect that. |
Date | 20:25:53, June 01, 2019 CET | From | Demokratische Sozialistische Partei | To | Debating the Religious Actions |
Message | And what of the minority? You are purely focusing on the Majority of our population. This kind of thinking leads to - and I do mean leads to - a dominance in voting culture. The reason ours takes no state religion is because it provides for representation based on Merit, not religion. |
Date | 21:37:41, June 01, 2019 CET | From | Sozialistische Koalition | To | Debating the Religious Actions |
Message | Isn't it more logical to try to appease the majority rather than the minority? This bill presses no-one, unlike the current state of legislation which almost persecutes Hosians. |
