MessageMr Speaker,

We do believe there are some major flaws with this bill.

One flaw is that this legislation is very barebones and does not give any specifics. The law states "and a small number of private clinics, which are heavily regulated", yet we get no details as to how many private clinics will be allowed to operate or what the regulations on them will be.

With that being said Mr. Speaker, we support a public healthcare system with room for private healthcare, which this bill creates. Therefore Mr. Speaker, we will support this bill, but would encourage our colleagues in the Liberal Party to hash out the details of major bills before moving them for a vote in the future. We look forward to working with the Liberals and all parties in this house to amend this bill in the future.
